Questions about invisalign
How long does treatment take?
Most cases take 6-18 months depending on how much movement is needed, though mild cases can finish in as little as a few months.
Are the aligners noticeable?
They're made of clear plastic and are very difficult to notice in everyday conversation or photos, even up close.
Can I eat normally?
Yes — you remove the aligners to eat and drink anything other than water, so there are no food restrictions like there are with metal braces.
Does Invisalign hurt?
You may feel mild pressure for a day or two after switching to a new aligner — that's a sign the tooth is moving, and it's typically much milder than the soreness associated with braces adjustments.
Is Invisalign only for adults?
No — Invisalign works well for teens with a full set of adult teeth as well as adults; we'll evaluate your bite and jaw development to confirm you're a good candidate.
What happens after my teeth are straight?
You'll wear a retainer, usually at night, to keep your teeth from gradually shifting back — this is standard after any orthodontic treatment, including traditional braces.
